Proteomics Technician (Fixed Term)
We are looking to appoint a Proteomics Technician to join the Proteomics Core Facility at the MRC Toxicology Unit, University of Cambridge. The facility performs a fundamental role in tackling proteomic-based problems for the Unit's scientific programmes.
As the Proteomics Technician you will provide technical support to ensure the smooth running of the Proteomics Facility. You will be responsible for sample preparation, reporting results to scientists, operating and maintaining specialist equipment and general laboratory maintenance.
You will need to have a degree (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline with practical experience in proteomics sample preparation. Specific experience in nano LC MS/MS, analysis of peptides and proteins by bottom up and top down methods would be an advantage. Experience of dealing with multiple users on a variety of research projects and communicating research results to a wide variety of audiences is essential as is the ability to work to a high degree of precision and accuracy.
The Medical Research Council Toxicology Unit is an internationally renowned institution focussed on the delivery of field-changing mechanistic insights into toxicology and disease and is based in the newly refurbished Gleeson building, central Cambridge.
