The role
The IT Technical Specialist will join a small team providing managed Windows & macOS devices to enable staff and students to work in a secure and productive manner in alignment with the University's digital aims.
You'll get the chance to collaborate and interact with some of the finest minds in the world, sharing data, insight and expertise to make a meaningful difference to the University's success.
What you will do
As an IT Technical Specialist you will:
- Contribute to the development of the Windows component of the University Managed Desktop service.
- Implement and maintain automated services at scale.
- Develop and document procedures for supporting teams.
- Work with UMD customers within the University to ensure the University Managed Desktop aligns with a wide range of requirements.
- Provide platform specific technical advice to support other UIS services.
This position is a permanent, full-time role based on the University's West Cambridge Site. The nature of this post requires attendance at the office of a minimum of one day a week, sometimes more depending on work requirements.
What you will need
- Experience of managing devices at scale, preferably using Microsoft cloud based technologies.
- Proven experience of developing IT services in conjunction with other stakeholders.
- Good communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work in a diverse environment with complex requirements.
