Research Associate (Narita Group) (Fixed Term)
Join us at the world-leading CRUK Cambridge Institute! We are a unique department of the University of Cambridge, core-funded by Cancer Research UK's charitable activities. We are eagerly searching for a new Research Associate to join the Narita Laboratory for a short-term position (one year, starting around April 2025).
Our lab focuses on cellular stress response, particularly on cellular senescence. Senescent cells are not merely arrested; they actively shape the local tissue and systemic environment. A key aspect of our research is gene regulation through high-order chromatin organisation, and we are particularly interested in how senescent cells influence immune response and tumorigenesis.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in a project investigating cellular senescence at the single-cell level. They should hold a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline and have substantial research experience in cell biology and genomics, with expertise in advanced molecular and cellular techniques. Strong computational skills are also essential, with a particular focus on single-cell RNA sequencing analysis.
Candidates must have a strong track record of conducting and publishing high-quality research and excellent communication skills. Experience with mouse genetics is not required for this role.
The successful candidate will report directly to Prof. Narita as a key research group member.
Please submit a CV with a publication record and provide two academic referees' names and contact details.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 years in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.
