Research Associate (Narita Group) (Fixed Term)

Join us at the world-leading CRUK Cambridge Institute! We are a unique department of the University of Cambridge, core-funded by Cancer Research UK's charitable activities. The Narita Laboratory seeks a skilled Research Associate for an 8-month fixed-term role from April to November 2025.

This project investigates oncogene-induced senescence and tumour initiation in mouse livers. We explore gene regulation at a single-cell level and how OIS and tumour-initiating cells impact immune responses (see Nature 2024 PMID 39112713)

The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on the early detection and prevention of primary liver cancer using animal models. Experience in immune phenotyping, flow cytometry, mouse genetics, and immunohistochemistry would be advantageous. Liver-focused experience would also be useful but not essential. Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field.

The successful candidate will report directly to Prof. Narita as a key member of the research group.

Please send applications in the following format: a CV with a publication record and two academic referees' names and contact details.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 8 months in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.
