Project Coordinator (Part Time, Fixed Term)
Applications are invited for a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator (PC) to provide dedicated support to both the Pluchino and Peruzzotti-Jametti teams within the Department of Clinical Neurosciences. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of both labs by providing efficient administrative and research support.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Educated to HND, HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualification or equivalent level of practical experience.
- Experience in an administrative and project coordination role.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Experience with financial administration and reporting.
- Familiarity with Worktribe or other online grant submission systems.
- Previous experience working in an academic or research environment.
- Knowledge of contracts, agreements, intellectual property and technology transfer regulations.
The PC will be responsible for providing comprehensive support in several key areas, such as:
Project-Specific Responsibilities:
- Coordination: The PC will help coordinate activities across multiple collaborating institutions involved in several projects. These include the NMSS Experimental Medicine RESTORE project (focused on developing an experimental medicine human trial design for neural stem cell-based therapy in progressive multiple sclerosis-MS), other projects funded by the Italian, US, and UK MS Societies, as well as the Medical Research Council. This will entail ensuring effective communication with co-investigators, Advisory Boards, and Public Patient Involvement groups.
- Deliverables and Reporting: The PC will be tasked with reminding partners of the timely completion of project deliverables. The PC will then liaise with relevant contacts within the Department and University to ensure accurate financial and scientific reports to funding bodies.
General Administrative Responsibilities:
- Grants: The PC will play a crucial role in new grant submissions via Worktribe, collating supporting documents and liaising with grant offices (within our Department and the University) and the Research Operations Office (ROO) to ensure timely submission of applications.
- Organisation: The PC will manage the diaries of both the Pluchino and Peruzzotti-Jametti teams, scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel. The PA will also provide ad hoc general administrative support, such as managing specific correspondence.
- Agreements: The PC will assist with the management of new and existing Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs) and Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs), liaising with Technology Transfer Offices within and outside the University of Cambridge.
