Cambridge Graduate Course in Medicine Tutor (Part Time)


Applications are invited for this post which is to fill a recent vacancy.

The Cambridge Graduate Course in Medicine Tutor will make a major contribution to the running of the Cambridge Graduate Course in Medicine and provide academic and pastoral student support. A significant part of the role will be to be part of a team of two CGCM tutors delivering weekly 'Index Case' tutorials to year 1 and 2 CGCM students at St Edmunds College, Cambridge. This case-base teaching is an integral component of the theoretical teaching of clinical medicine to CGCM Y1/2 students.

The Deputy Director will be part of a team of eight CGCM Tutors and work in close partnership with the CGCM Director and Deputy Director, a General Practice CGCM Lead, and WSH Undergraduate Specialty Tutors. Secretarial and other administrative support is provided by the CGCM team at the West Suffolk Hospital Education Centre.

This is a three year secondment, with the possibility of renewal for further periods of three years thereafter. If the successful applicant is a GP, self-employed, retired, or is employed by a non-NHS organisation, successful appointment would be on a fractional contract with the Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine.

All candidates for the post should hold full GMC registration, a license to practice and substantive NHS appointment as a Consultant or work as a General Practitioner in the Eastern region.
