Clinical HR Assistant [Maternity Cover] (Part Time)

The Role and You:

Reporting to the Clinical HR Team Leader, an exciting opportunity has become available to join the Clinical HR Team, as a Clinical HR Assistant on a temporary basis to cover a Maternity Leave of a current team member. This key role will ensure a professional and seamless HR service is delivered to our clinical staff as well as other internal and external stakeholders.

In this fast paced role, you will work closely with the HR Staff hub recruitment team, department contacts and hiring managers and staff providing a first class administrative service to ensure the smooth onboarding of new clinical staff - from drafting contracts and ensuring relevant compliance checks and paperwork are in place to dealing with clinical contract and pay queries, advising on all medical staffing matters and setting up new starters on the HR system.

You will be used to juggling a busy inbox and providing advice and guidance in a professional and timely manner. You will enjoy working towards deadlines and being able to use your initiative to resolve queries. You will have a passion for building strong relationships.

You will have experience working in a busy administrative role in either a recruitment or HR team or a busy administrative role where you where you have been able to provide a strong level of customer support.

There are regular opportunities to get involved in key clinical projects, and wider HR projects and initiatives. We are always looking to continually improve as a team and value individuals who can bring in fresh ideas and improve ways of working.

The hours of the role are 0.6 FTE, 22 hours per week. These can be worked over 3 days, or other working patterns will be considered. Hybrid working is in place with the expectation of 1 office day a week with a 3 day working pattern.

You will join a supportive team which is part of a wider HR team of 26 HR colleagues. We understand the importance of wellbeing and encourage staff to look after their own wellbeing in and out of work and there are plenty of opportunities to join in with the regular wellbeing events and activities that are run at the School as part of the Clinical School Wellbeing Programme.

The team is based in the Clinical School Office on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and it's an exciting time to join with key projects moving forward including a new Children's Hospital, Cancer Research Hospital as well as other Global Health initiatives.

Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.
