Power Platform Lead


We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Power Platform Lead to join the Finance Systems Group, part of the Finance Division. This role will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining business applications using the Microsoft Power Platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on building intuitive, user-friendly solutions that integrate data from diverse sources to enhance and streamline business processes.

The Role

As the Power Platform Lead, you will drive the adoption and effective utilization of Microsoft Power Platform solutions across the Finance Division. You will be responsible for designing secure, scalable, and efficient solutions that align with the strategic objectives of the Division.

Working closely with business analysts and stakeholders, you will ensure that the applications developed are user-centric, aligned with business needs, and compliant with relevant security and data protection standards. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the efficiency, performance, and reliability of Power Platform applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirements and design innovative Power Platform solutions.
  • Design and customize forms, workflows, and integrations to meet business requirements.
  • Implement and manage development standards, environments, and release management practices within the Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Deliver training sessions and provide support to ensure effective use of developed solutions.
  • Manage end-to-end Power Platform projects, including stakeholder communication, risk management, and quality assurance.
  • Establish and monitor service levels for Power Platform applications and services.

Your Skills

  • Hands-on experience in developing solutions on SharePoint Online and Power Apps, connectors, triggers, custom controls, calculations, formatting, and data validating functions, and integration capabilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of Power Apps (including Canvas or Model-driven approach), Power Automate and SharePoint Online.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST APIs.
  • Experience in data encryption in Power Apps/Automate and disaster recovery planning.
  • Ability to analyse business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in setting up and administering custom connections in PowerApps.
  • Experience with SharePoint and PowerApps development and migration across multiple environments, using out-of-the-box features

Location

The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
